Business Adventure

One of Jared's favorite pastimes is hiking through the river hills close to his parents farm and trying to find antlers. In case you were not aware Deer (or Elk, Moose, etc) shed their antlers every spring and then grow a new set in summer. Usually he will come back with about 5-15 antlers per hike. He enjoys trying to find large antlers and is particularly excited if he finds a large set. I have gone hiking with him quite a few times, and even Bekah has come on a couple of trips (in Utero included).

We figured if there was a way to turn this hobby into money why not give it a try, so Jared and I recently decided we would open up an Etsy business selling cut up antlers as "doggie chews." We had seen other people sell these on Etsy and with much success. So, if you or anyone you know is interested in purchasing these dog treats please check out our Etsy shop at

My Oh-So-Silly Little Girlie

Going for a hike on a rather chilly day! She just loves being outside :)

Sweeping Grandma's deck.

Silly Selfie!
Digging for treasure while waiting for daddy in the SUV.

In other news, today we found Bekah on the kitchen table for the first time... My girl likes to climb up everything! :)

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

I've tried quite a few pinterest recipes over the years, some recipes turn out great, others don't. I found this recipe the other day and it has definitely made its way into our favorite cookie recipe stash. I made them for the second time yesterday and we are already nearly done them. All that is left to say is next time I'm doubling the recipe!

Easter Weekend

This past weekend we drove out to Manitoba to spend Easter with my family. Usually I am too caught up in the activities of the day and forget to take pictures, but this weekend, with a few helpful reminders from others, I made a conscientious effort to take pictures. I didn't remember to take pictures of everything or everyone I wanted to. I wish I would have snapped a few pictures of the visit I had with my friend Sam and her cute baby or the visit I had with my grandma who is going to be 99 next month! But anyway, here are some of the pictures from the weekend.

Bekah loved playing outside with Lexis! Prior to this Bekah had an unfortunate incident with a little steel shopping cart, which left quite the mark on her little nosey.

Eve chomping away on a rib.

POWWW! Feedin' daddy muffins!

We visited our Church Friends in Carberry. Bekah enjoyed playing in their "wheat box."

She found some little buddies.

Typical Kiddos. Can't get everyone happy/smiling at once. Bekah was sleeping once we got home from Church and then was quickly ushered into family pics, I don't think she was too impressed, haha.
Easter egg(bag) hunting is sweeeeet!

Duck Lips. Quack Quack.

Mmmm! Chocolate!
Boys and their toys. Lots of mud=lots of fun!

Kim and Eve just chillin'

Eve bundled up and joined us outside.

{one}

This past weekend we celebrated Bekah's birthday with Jared's side of the family. I know everybody says this about their own kids ALL THE TIME, but where does the time go? How is my baby a year already? Where did those 365 days go? Is she still even a baby anymore or when will she graduate to the title "toddler"?

Bekah was a little unsure of why she was suddenly the center of attention and why everyone was singing and looking at her.
I enjoy baking, but I have work to do on my cake decorating skills. I lack the patience and finesse, especially trying to decorate while hearing my baby cry in the next room.. One of her daily accidents. Sigh.
Big bag, little girlie
Birthday morning calls for some waffles, sauce and sprinkles!
Mmm Mmm Good!

 At One Bekah...

-LOVES animals. She basically starts to hyperventilate at the sight of any animal.
-Can "meow" like a kitty, "baa" like a sheep and she can also make the sound for the elephant. She also says "mama," "dada," and can "waa" like a baby. "Dada" also can mean "dance dance!" or "duck," obviously depending on the situation.
-Loves to climb and explore. She enjoys climbing onto the couch and looking out the window. She can climb right out of our bathtub (and it's a pretty deep one!) She stands in her car seat and rocks it back and forth, anything that looks "climbable" to her looks fun!
-Is becoming better at focused play, such as stacking toys or playing xylophone.
-Enjoys "putting things in the basket." Whether it's putting the bath toys away, hiding things in my oven drawer or helping me clean up the toys, these are things she enjoys.
-Has six teeth. Four on the top and two on the bottom.
-Loves looking at all the faces on the fridge. This includes grandparents, cousins, and friends.
-Really likes books. All types of books, but especially animal ones.
-Loves her fruit! She definitely takes after me in this way, because I also am pretty crazy about my fruit.
-Still doesn't have much hair. Correction: she has lots of hair, but it's just very fine and short.
-Isn't walking yet, but takes up to 8 balanced steps in between Jared and I. Also, last week she stood up in the middle of the room and walked a few steps all by herself. So... I think she is able, but will choose to walk when she feels like it :)
-Loves her daddy and is thrilled when we go upstairs and watch him work on the house.
-Is one feeding away from being weaned and it will happen very shortly.
-Gives the sweetest kisses even though they are a bit juicy :P

Baby Bumb Ahead

So...Just in case you haven't heard already, Jared and I are expecting baby #2! My unofficial due date is September 1st and we are very excited. I expect the first few months will be very exhausting with a newborn and an 18 month old, but I look forward to see how Bekah will interact with her little baby brother or sister.

February Fun

She loves her oven drawer!

This little monkey can climb onto the couch with just a little help (a pile of books or whatever), climb onto the arm rests, climb to the top of the couch then stand and bang her hands on the window! Sheesh!

Pretty snowy owl.

First family skidoo ride! B did great!

Spaghetti on Thursday... Sluuuurrrrpp!

Left-overs on Friday, still fun!

We started up the renos again a few weeks back. In the picture Jared's dad is helping put up the styrofoam insulation on the slanted ceilings. Currently almost half of this room is dry-walled. Jared has this next week off while his boss is on a missions trip, so hopefully we will be able to fly through this room and begin working on the rest of the upstairs.

I got some new glasses!

Baby B is not going to be a baby for long! We are just a couple weeks away from her first birthday! I'm excited to be making her a cake!

Did I mention my sweetie got her monkey genetics from me???

Little buddies! These little kiddos are exactly 1 month apart :)
