Pure Joy, The Move, Little Miss Cutie: A Random Post

We finally bought a Jolly Jumper for little Bekah. It was so fun watching her jump in it for the first time. She jumped and twirled and had a big grin glued to her face, even a few giggles came out. All I could think to describe her emotions was "pure joy!" This phrase "pure joy" then reminded me of a Bible verse I know quite well.

James 1:2-4 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

For some reason (strongly connected to my sinful nature) having "pure joy" while going through trials doesn't seem to come too naturally to me. Actually, quite the opposite! But this verse is a good reminder to be joyful even when life is hard.

Honestly, this move has been a lot easier than I thought it would be, sure I still have some bad days, but I think it has been waaaay easier than when I had to make the adjustment to suddenly becoming a newly married-pastor's wife-living in a tiny apartment-in a new town! Compared to that this seems not too bad. Although, I do miss my big crazy family :) Hopefully I'll get some visits soon (wink wink ;)) Looking back though, I think we grew a lot in our first year of marriage and that church soon began to feel like family to us, just for the record :)

Anywho, I'm going to skip ahead to a couple pictures of little miss cutie!

I've found Bekah like this in the morning quite a few times before I ever remembered to bring my camera! Crazy Kiddo!

Just going on a walk. Still sporting the toque made my Grandma Toews, although it's a bit tight :)

Enjoying her Jolly Jumper. This picture doesn't do it justice AT ALL! For some reason my other Jolly Jumper Pics wouldn't upload and I didn't think I could write a post about her bouncin' without putting any pictures up.

I took Bekah "swimming" for her first time ever. I'm thankful that this small town has a pool :)

Sundays

We love Sundays around here. They usually involve going to church, visiting family and relaxing! Today we had a potluck at Church, we went over to Jared's grandparents for a visit, and we went over to Jared's parents for supper. Sundays are usually quite busy days, but we enjoy leaving the house and spending good quality time with others.

Jared's nephew was staying the weekend at the Klaassen's. He enjoyed "fishing" into the hot tub!

I find it cute watching Jared's grandparents, here he is spoon feeding her ice cream.

This has been the easiest garden to take care of! ..heehee.. We pull some weeds when we come out once a week, but we have Jared's parents and his grandpa to thank for most of it's care.

Kids these days. All you have to do is pull out a camera and they say "cheese." No enthusiasm required.

Bekah and her great grandma Klaassen

Sitting with her grandpa Klaaassen. Notice the diapers on the line?? We currently do not have our washer and drier going.. so we brought all our dirty laundry along for the visit too :)

The Little Pig That Built His House With Straw

Jared and I are starting to feel like we bought one of the 3 little pig's house. At first we weren't going to COMPLETELY "gut" our bathroom, leaving the boards covering the insulation on...but then our friends came over today to help us... One of the guys ripped off one a board and we were quite surprised to find our walls insulated with STRAW! Yikes! So now we're ripping that all out and filling it back up with better insulation. This means that our bathroom reno will take even more time, but I am glad we're fixing it up well in the process. This bathroom is going to look awesome once it's done!

Internet Is Up And Working!!

Wow! What a crazy couple of weeks its been! Thankfully we just got the internet up and running so now I can share a bit about our move. Sorry that some of these pictures aren't very clear, they come from my phone.

Packing up our stuff. There was a lot more than we thought.. figures

We are oh so thankful for our moms. They did a lot of cleaning!

Moving the heavy stuff!

Loading the truck up!

We ended up staying the night at my parents along with Jared's parents for a couple of nights. This was due to major flooding in SK and closure of the No. 1 Highway.

Convoy! Jared's mom in the truck, his dad in our car and we drove our equinox. My parents drove a truck out the following week on their way to a music festival in Red Deer.

Bekah was getting quite tired of driving. Her favorite part of the trip was when we stopped to feed and diaper change!

Unloading at our new home!

Bekah turned 4 months old!

Welcome "home" flowers from Andrea

Tuckered out from a long day out! Time to fill our pantry again!

We are currently in the process of bathroom renos!
